Game 7: Andrew Jackson vs. Super Bowl VII

What you remember, of course, is that girly pass near the end of the game, when Dolphins kicker Garo Yepremian picked up a blocked field goal, then thought he'd try throwing the ball. Harder than it looks! Somehow Garo selected which arm to use -- then blooped it into the hands of Redskins DB Mike Bass, who returned it all the way to the other end of the world for a TD.  Other than that blooper, Miami's "No Name Defense" pitched a shutout. The Fins won 14-7 to wrap up their undefeated season.  It made history, but the game itself wasn't particularly thrilling.

Andrew Jackson, a former commander of the Tennessee militia and military governor of Florida, brought a tough, frontier attitude to his two-term Presidency. For much of his career, AJ had battled for turf against Indians -- not football players with Indian pictures on their helmets, but real ones -- and he was much more brutal than even the undefeated Miami Dolphins would ever be.  To non-Indians, however, Jackson was a populist. He opposed the National Bank as an elite institution and fought for popular democracy. Old Hickory has long been honored as one of the top Presidents and currently appears on one of the best stocking stuffers available, the $20 bill. This victory goes to the Presidency.

Score after this match-up: Presidents 6, Super Bowls 1.

I guess screwing indians out of their land and sending them to oklahoma just doesn't carry the stigma it used to, does it?

I guess carrying out a successful ethnic cleansing trumps an undefeated season.
