Game 10: John Tyler vs. Super Bowl X
John Tyler served nearly a complete term in office as President of the United States, despite never being elected to the office. Tyler was vice president when William Henry Harrison passed away, almost instantly after being inaugurated. Tyler stepped in as President and served without a VP, which was the deal back then. He did alright, though not good enough to get his picture on money. Tyler, at 51 the youngest President yet, was known for strengthening the presidency. The Virginian's greatest legacy probably is his annexation of Texas in 1845, an action that led to the Dallas Cowboys entering the NFL 115 years later.
The Cowboys made a late run at the Steelers in Super Bowl X, but fell, 21-17, in a well-played contest between two teams that deserved to be there. There had been speculation prior to the big game that Steelers star WR Lynn Swann wouldn't play. He'd suffered a concussion in the AFC Championship against the Raiders that had put him in the hospital. But, oh yeah, Swann played. QB Terry Bradshaw hit him on long routes multiple times, including the grab Swann is most famous for, an all-out, fingertip catch over Dallas cornerback Mark Washington.
Sorry, Dallas. And sorry, all sons of the Lone Star State. Tyler can't compete with Super Bowl X in this match-up.
Score after this match: Presidents 7, Super Bowls 3.

Just a note of clarification - Swann's memorable catch (and a couple others) was not over Cliff Harris but over CB Mark Washington who is the one lying on his back while Swann floats above him.
You're right RP. Thank you! I have corrected the game recap. Now it only USED TO BE incorrect.
